PCSO Unicombe Report - December 2011

Northiam was the busiest village this month with the first incidents of note occurring on the 2nd December when an attempt was made to break into a property on Dixter Lane, however the occupiers were inside at the time and no entry was gained. Around the same time however, another property in Dixter Road, had its rear window smashed and was entered however it is not believed anything was stolen.

On the 4th December, the police received a report about a rowdy group of persons in Coplands Rise and this resulted in a male being arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

Late in the evening on the 16th December, a bin was set on fire outside the estate agents in the village. Fortunately the fire brigade were alerted and the fire was put out before any damage could be caused to any nearby properties. If any person has any information about this matter then please contact the police on 101 quoting reference 437 17/12/11.

Overnight on the 29th December, the local shop was broken into with a large amount of cigarettes stolen. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police on 101 quoting 154 30/12/11

Also on 29th December during the night, a garage, shed and vehicle were broken into at a property in Beales Lane, numerous items were stolen including chainsaws, strimmers and a white coloured ‘Marine Eldridge’ mountain bike. Enquiries into this matter are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact the police quoting 531 30/12/11.

Finally, December saw 4 reports of road traffic collisions at various locations across the village which with the exception of one dead deer did not result in any injuries to any persons involved.
